I used this marinade for grilled chicken, shrimp and tofu sewers that I made for the second night of Sage’s January retreat. It’s a great, versatile marinade that can be made ahead of time. I recommend marinading your meat/tofu at least 3 hours before grilling. Be sure to reserve some the marinade for basting once you are actually grilling. I like to top the chicken, shrimp and tofu with sesame seeds right before grilling.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Sesame Oil
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1/2 cup Tamari
- 2 small Garlic Cloves, minced
- 2 tbsp Fresh Ginger, minced
- 1/2 cup Rice vinegar
- 2 tbsp Agave
- 1-2 tbsp Sesame Seeds optional
Servings: cups
Instructions
- Mix all ingredients in mixing bowl and whisk well. This is enough marinate for about 3 pounds of meat/tofu. I use large gallon sized ziplock bags for marinading in the fridge for about 3 hours. Be sure to leave out about 30 mins on the countertop before grilling. It's best to let the meat/tofu come to room temperature before grilling.
